Position Title–Dataprotector administrator
Backup Technologies:
Knowledge and Skills Required:
A BS/MS/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering.
Must possess Expert level knowledge in one these areas:
Solution Integration
Backup Management Skills
Storage infra management
1. Enterprise backup applications HP Data Protector (preferably), NetBackup
2. Other Backup applications Backup Exec , Arcserve , Commvault , Netvault, EMC Networker , TSM
3. Backup Technologies De Duplication , Virtual Library , Tape Library implementation & Configuration experience
4. Enterprise reporting application will be added advantage , Storage Essenstial , Aptare Etc.
Education and Experience Required:
• Computing or similar subject related degree
• Minimum of 8 years IT experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Backup and SAN Storage management
• Interpersonal sensitivity and customer responsiveness
• Excellent knowledge of the IT environment and its future trends
• Must have excellent communication skills to liaise, effectively, as required to ensure efficient delivery of the service.
• Ability to communicate complex technical contents plainly and simply
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels. Able to demonstrate good verbal reasoning skills.
• Strong consulting skills, flexibility and resourcefulness
• Strong knowledge of SAN and NAS
• Strong knowledge of Backup & Tape libraries
• Strong knowledge on ITIL processes
• Good understanding of technical infrastructure (Operating systems, Hardware, Backups, Storage and associated tools).
• Certifications in relevant technologies
• Service and Customer Orientated / Team player (TCE).
• Strong ability to work under pressure / Flexible and self-motivated.
• Exposure to Project work is desirable.
Pre Screening Questionnaire:
1. Do you pocess minimum of 5 years’ experience in Backup, preferably specialization in Data Protector backup tool
2. Do you pocess hands on experience in Strong knowledge in Virtual Tape Library, De-duplication, Disk-to-Disk backup, Tape/Data copy to remote sites … etc)
3. Do you have an Administrative knowledge in (installation/configuration/
4. Do you have a Basic understanding of Storage Area Network (SAN) & Backup Area Network
5. Do you have a Specialist knowledge on SAN & LAN Backup
6. Exposure to Project work is desirable
7. Any Prior experience in working Data Centre environment or Off-shore support for global clients
8. Are you Flexibile for 24/7 support + weekend on-call
9. Do you have Certifications in relevant technologies – pls mention
10. Do you pocess Knowledge on ITIL processes
