Job Description
Title: Systems Engineer / Oracle DBA
Type: Perm
Essential
• Min. 3-4 years’ of experience in supporting, maintaining and implementing 24x7 mission-critical Oracle 11g databases
• Experience of administering the Database (oracle 11g on AIX platform)
• Implemented and hands-on support with at least 1 type of Oracle data replication (e.g. Oracle Data Guard, Quest Shareplex)
• Implemented and hands-on support with Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on operations work in setting up Oracle databases with application interfaces
• Hands-on experience in implementing security setup and controls on mission-critical databases
• Working knowledge and ability to read and understand java and shell scripting:
• Working knowledge of DRP (disaster recovery plan) and BCP (business continuity plan)
• Understand SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) concept
• Able to translate business requirements and needs into database and applications technical requirements
Preferred
• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture
• Technical administration and support of AIX Unix systems, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) Storage, Netbackup systems.
